Staying present to something you used to try to get away from can be very intense. It can seem like a wall of flames stands between you and the truth. What you’ve been avoiding seems like something terrible, but the wall of flames turns out to be very thin. It is easy to go through, but if you hesitate, you’ll get burned. It will be horrible for those moments when you are half in and half out. But at some point, you are willing to go through the flames, and you discover that what you have been running from is not so bad. In fact, the truth feels very satisfying.
